CHAHI is a scenic and pollution-free valley in Azad Kashmir surrounded by mountains covered in pine trees. Most of the inhabitants speak Pahari, with some Punjabi influence. Urdu is still spoken and understood among the villagers.

Important locations include:

  • Jandi Chontra, about 1000 meters above sea level, a scenic spot that is an eastern gateway to Samani valley
  • Baghsar Lake
  • Samahni town
  • Baba Shadi Shaheed, shrine for a 16th-century ruler Shadab Khan, descendant of the Chib dynasty in Bhimber.
  • Chowki

Town Chowki is a famous Town of tehsil samahni. Famous personality ch Ali Shan Soni of samahni also belonged to this UC Chowki. He is a famous leader and a great politician. Chowki is the business centre of Samahni.

The Samahni valley is about 35 km long and 8 km wide, stretching from Chawlian to Behmla in the West.[1]
