Aleksander Vinter, better known by his alias Savant (also Blanco, formerly Vinter in Hollywood, Vinter in Vegas and others), is a Norwegian musician.[4][5]

Career

In 2009, he released his debut album, Outbreak, under Vinter in Hollywood. Outbreak was nominated in the electronic music category for the 2009 Norwegian Grammy Awards.[6][7][8]

Vinter signed with SectionZ Records in 2010 and released Mamachine under the alias Vinter in Vegas and in 2011, Ninür under Savant.

In 2013, his following increased as he embarked on two North American tours.[9][10] Between tours he released the album Cult and provided music for the D-Pad Studio game Savant - Ascent.[11] Orakel was released on December 11, 2013 and reached the #3 spot on the iTunes Dance charts in the US.[12]

In 2014, Savant released Protos, which reached #24 on the North American iTunes Pop charts and #1 on the Bandcamp Electronica and Overall charts. Later that year, on December 13, 2014, ZION was released, peaking at #2 on the holiday iTunes Dance chart in the US. ZION also reached #19 on the Billboard Dance chart and #24 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.[citation needed]

His album Invasion was released in January 2015, and led deadmau5 to call Savant "the change that electronic dance music needs".[13]

Savant has announced his next record titled "VEX" for 2016 release. With deep hip-hop, R&B, Pop and Electronic influences.

Blanco

Blanco started as a small side project of Savant in October 2010. One EP was released, titled The Mother Of God And A Filthy Whore.[14] Since then, Blanco was not heard from for quite some time.

Around mid 2015, Vinter began producing once again under the name "Blanco" despite Savant's success. According to Vinter, there are future plans for Savant releases either in late 2015 or early 2016, easing the concern of fans who had believed Blanco was taking over full-time. Vinter announced that what was originally planned to be a single EP will actually be released as a trilogy of EPs, each with six tracks.[15] The first of these EPs, Bajo, even included three singles.[16]

In October 2015, Vinter announced that Savant would no longer be releasing EDM style music, stating that from that point on Blanco would be releasing any EDM style tracks.[17]

In his press kit,[18] Vinter is described as having Aspergers Syndrome. Within his 2014 MTV Artists biographical profile, he is described as having "struggled in school and life until he was diagnosed with a series of mental conditions -- primarily Asperger's Syndrome."[19]
