Scorţaru Nou is a commune located in Brăila County, Romania. It is composed of four villages: Gurguieţi, Pitulaţi, Scorţaru Nou and Sihleanu.[2] It formerly included Deşiraţi and Nicolae Bălcescu villages, now depopulated.
