Sergiu Mocanu (June 6, 1961, Ciobalaccia) is a Moldovan politician.[1]

Biography

He was a member of the Parliament of Moldova (1994–2001), a member of the Christian Democratic Popular Front, and a redactor of the newspaper "Ţara" (1994–1998). Also, he was a member of the Party of Rebirth and Reconciliation of Moldova (1998–2003) and of the Liberal Party (Moldova).[2]

He was a special guest (15 May 1994-25 September 1995) and representative (25 September 1995-23 June 1997) at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.[3]

Sergiu Mocanu served as adviser of the president of Moldova Vladimir Voronin (February 2, 2004 - June 26, 2007).[4] Then, he became the president of the People's Action (Moldova).
