Serkan Erdoğan (born 30 August 1978) is a retired Turkish professional basketball player. He is currently assistant coach of Tofaş.

Pro career

He was a product of TED Ankara Kolejliler academy and he made his professional debut with this team. He played for Tuborg Pilsener, Tofaş, Ülkerspor, Efes Pilsen and Türk Telekom in Turkey. Afterwards, he played for TAU Ceramica and Meridiano Alicante in Spain. On January 24, 2011, he officially signed a contract with Beşiktaş of the Turkish Basketball League.[1] He signed a two-years contract with Banvit in summer of 2011. He signed a contract with Royal Halı Gaziantep in the summer of 2013.

Turkish national team

He also played for Turkish national team.

Doping Scandal

He has tested positive for the banned substance Nandrolone and has been suspended from the FIBA SuproLeague with immediate effect.

Serkan tested positive in his "A" urine sample, which revealed a level of Nandrolone (anabolic androgenic steroids) above the limits specified in FIBA's doping controls. The positive test, which was carried out by the responsible FIBA body, came after Ulker's home game on 7 December 2000, against Panathinaikos.

Serkan has the right to request a second analysis using his "B" sample, which will be carried out at the same laboratory that analysed the "A"" sample.
