Pamarthy Shankar is a caricaturist and cartoonist from Hyderabad,India. He currently draws for Sakshi, a daily newspaper in Hyderabad published in Telugu.[1]

He has won several national and international prizes in caricature contents both nationally and internationally, such as the Grand Prix World Press Cartoon Award[2][3][4] and India's National Caricature Contest.[5] The uniqueness of his cartoons and caricatures is not in drawing the attention of viewers by nagging or mocking but instead through charm and exaggeration of the subject persons prominent features. His caricatures of prominent people have received wide accolades and given him prominence.[2][6][7][8]

He has frequent exhibitions nationally and internationally.[1][5][9][10]

  • First Prize in Brazil International cartoon and caricature contest 2008 held in Brazil.
  • Bronze medal in free cartoon web international cartoon festival 2005 held in China.
  • Special Prize in First Indian International Cartoon and caricature contest 2005 held in India.
  • Special Honor Prize 3rd LM International Cartoon Competition held in china.
  • Honorable Mention in World Press Cartoon Contest 2009 held in Portugal.
  • Maya Kamath Memorial Award for Excellence in Cartooning 2008[11]
  • Best Political Cartoonist Award 2007 from Government of Andhra Pradesh.
  • 3rd Prize Hindustan Times Caricature Contest 2000 held in India.
  • First Prize in Fish International Cartoon Contest (2005)[12]
