The Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel is a five-star hotel in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. It is located in a central area overlooking the old part of the city and run by Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide. The hotel was built in 1989 and opened in 1991.

History

The hotel was among a few joint ventures with Western companies during the Communist period. In August 2007, the UAE-based Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority bought the hotel through its subsidiary RAKIA Georgia LLC for 68 million USD. The hotel is undergoing a major refurbishment (USD 40 Mio) since December 2014.[1]
