Fürstenfeld is the name of a town and a district in the southeast of Austria. It is situated within the federal Austrian state of Styria, close to the border to the federal Austrian state of Burgenland.

According to the poll 2001, Fürstenfeld has 5.981 citizens within its communal area, the larger urban area of Fürstenfeld includes approximately 20 % more citizens.

Fürstenfeld was founded around 1170 A.D. as a fortress and received its town charter in 1215. Today it is known as a center for schools, middle-sized industry, and its vicinity to several thermae (Loipersdorf, Blumau, Stegersbach).
