Tim Burton
Tim Burton (born August 25, 1958 in Burbank, California) is a film director known for his dark, humorous, quirky style. He started his career as a Disney animator and all his films portray a very stylized reality. Many of his films draw on gothic themes.
A few of his trademarks:
- Frequently shows dead dogs.
- Personalizes the production logo in the beginning of his films.
- Main character is usually a social outcast, mostly, but not always, a Goth.
- Opening credits usually has the camera following something or going through something.
- Often casts Johnny Depp.

He has worked with composer Danny Elfman on every one of his films since Pee-wee's Big Adventure, with the exception of Ed Wood.
He has been engaged to the British actress Helena Bonham Carter since 2001, with whom he has a son, Billy-Ray (born October 4 2003).
In addition to his film work, he has also written a book titled The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy: and Other Stories.
