Siobhán Killeen (born 21 September 1995) is an Irish international footballer who plays as a winger for Women's National League (WNL) club Shelbourne Ladies. She made her debut for the Republic of Ireland women's national football team in March 2014.

Club career

Killeen was playing for Raheny United when the Women's National League (WNL) was formed in 2011 and represented the club in the competition's first season. Over the next three seasons she won two league titles and three consecutive FAI Women's Cups with "The Pandas", scoring the winning extra time goal in the 2014 final. She also represented the club in the UEFA Women's Champions League. For the 2015–16 season, Killeen remained with the club in their new guise as Shelbourne Ladies.[3]

International career

As a youth international Killeen participated in Ireland's 2010 UEFA Women's Under-17 Championship and 2010 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup campaigns.[4] In March 2014 national coach Susan Ronan gave Killeen a senior debut against New Zealand at the 2014 Cyprus Cup, a 1–1 draw.

Personal life

In addition to her soccer career, Killeen is a radiology student at University College Dublin.[5] While attending UCD she represented Ireland at the 2015 Summer Universiade in Gwangju, South Korea.[6]

Playing style

Killeen is right-footed, but capable of playing on either wing: "It doesn’t matter which flank I play on. I am right-footed and some managers I have played under like me on the left cutting in for a shot while others have wanted me on the right and crossing."[7] A December 2015 article on the Women's National League website hailed Killeen as one of the best players in the league, "blessed with the balance of a ballet dancer and the speed of a track star".[4]
