Sir Harry Trelawny, 5th Baronet

Sir Harry Trelawny, 5th Baronet (15 February 1687 – 7 April 1762) was a British soldier and Member of Parliament. ^[2]

He was the eldest son of Brigadier-General Henry Trelawny of Trelawne, Pelynt, Cornwall and educated at Christ Church, Oxford. He succeeded his father in 1702.

Trelawny was an aide-de-camp to the Duke of Marlborough during the War of the Spanish Succession. He also sat as Member of Parliament for East Looe from 1708 to 1710. In 1756, at the age of 68, he succeeded his cousin Sir John Trelawny, 4th Baronet in the baronetcy.

Trelawny died in April 1762, aged 75. He had married, in 1716, Laetitia, the daughter and eventual heiress of Sir Jonathan Trelawny, 3rd Baronet, Bishop of Winchester. He had a son (who predeceased him) and 3 daughters. The baronetcy and Trelawne passed to his nephew and son-in-law Sir William Trelawny, 6th Baronet.
