Skylar Stecker (born April 24, 2002) is an American actress and singer.

Career

Skylar's career began to take shape when she performed at the 2012 International Modeling & Talent Association Awards in Los Angeles where she was awarded best singer and most sought after talent.[4] In 2012, she had sung the national anthem at Wisconsin Badgers,[5] New Orleans Saints,[6] UCLA, and Green Bay Packers games. She performed the National Anthem more than one hundred times.[7] She performed on stage alongside MattyBRaps. In August 2013, she began actively recording and releasing cover videos on her YouTube channel.[8] In the fall of 2013, Skylar had a guest starring role in the ABC comedy Super Fun Night starring Rebel Wilson.[9] Her first studio album was released on September 25, 2015, it featured the singles "Rooftop", "Rascal", "That's What's Up", "Crazy Beautiful" which were released in 2015. Skylar Stecker has announced tour dates with hip-hop and pop duo Kalin and Myles in December 2015.[10] In December 2015, Skylar Stecker won a Libby Award for "Best Use of Internet Stardom for Animals." The other nominees in the category included Ian Thomas, Jordyn Jones, and Josh Levi. On January 22, 2016, Skylar released a new single entitled "Wish Now" (Skylar Stecker Remix), released by Walt Disney Records in connection with the animated series entitled Disney Star Darlings.[11]

Her main influences are Bruno Mars, Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera and Alicia Keys.[12]

Personal life

Born in Tampa, Florida, Stecker is the daughter of Aaron Stecker and Kara Hendricks. She has a brother, Dorsett. She was raised in Wisconsin.[13] She has been vegetarian for 5 years and vegan since January 2015.[14]
