The Abbess of Songdhammakalyani Monastery is Ven. Dhammananda Bhikkhuni, the daughter of the founder Ven. Ta Tao Fa Tzu. Venerable Dhammananda (born Chatsumarn Kabilsingh) had previously been an author on Buddhism and was the first Thai woman to receive full ordination as a Theravada nun.[2]
