The sooty-faced finch (Arremon crassirostris) is a species of bird in the Emberizidae family. Until recently, it was placed in the genus Lysurus.[2]

It is found in Colombia, Costa Rica, and Panama. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
