Soundtrack for a Generation is the only studio album by South Bend, Indiana emo band Student Rick. It was released in 2001 on Victory Records. Between late June and mid-August, the group went on the 2002 edition of Warped Tour.[2]

Writing and composition

The band has said in interviews to have written the majority of the record in the basement together in Reiter's parents home at the time. Much of the album covers various topics of heartbreak, ex-girlfriends, long-distance relationships, nostalgia, loss of a loved one, and childhood.

Artwork and Packaging

The album has been made in the theme of a vinyl record. The cover shows a record player, while the back cover has a sepia photo of the band with the track listing, in a way of a record using "Side A" and "Side B" formula. The disc itself is made to look like a record and the artwork behind the jewel case is an overhead view of a record player.
