The South African ostrich also known as the black necked ostrich or southern ostrich (Struthio camelus australis) is a subspecies of the ostrich endemic to Southern Africa including South Africa, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Angola and Botswana.[1] It is widely farmed for its meat, eggs and feathers.
