Southend is a small village in northeastern Saskatchewan, Canada. It sits at the southern end of Reindeer Lake, the ninth largest lake in Canada. It has around 700 in population. (October 2008). The village is the terminus of Highway 102. In February 1980 2 sounding Black Brant 5B rockets were launched from Southend [1]

Controversy

A lawsuit was filled by a local Southend resident (Christopher Okemau) against the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, over being shot in the arm and chest by an RCMP officer. [2]
