Spaceman is the eighth studio album by American guitarist Ace Frehley, released on October 19, 2018. The album features a guest appearance from Frehley's former Kiss bandmate Gene Simmons. The album was announced in February 2018 and was expected to be released in April 2018, but was delayed.

The album features three alternative covers.

Album information[edit]

Spaceman features a reunion of sorts with Frehley's former KISS bandmate Gene Simmons, who co-wrote and played bass on the opener "Without You I'm Nothing." He also co-wrote "Your Wish Is My Command", which Simmons intended for KISS to record. Simmons, who named Spaceman, brought Frehley to perform with him at a Vault Experience event in Los Angeles earlier that year. Frehley originally wrote "Rockin' with the Boys" in the 1970s during KISS's heyday. The track "Pursuit of Rock and Roll" was originally written back in 1998. Frehley stated in his 2011 autobiography, No Regrets, that he wrote a lot of songs for KISS' 1998 album Psycho Circus, one of those songs being titled "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Rock 'n' Roll". He mentions that the title and song were deemed very similar to the song "I Pledge Allegiance to the State of Rock 'n' Roll".
