Springdale is a town in Washington County, Utah, United States. The population was 457 at the 2000 census. It is located immediately outside the boundaries of Zion National Park, and is oriented around the resulting tourist industry. It was originally settled as a Mormon farming community. Springdale was named by Forbes Traveler among one of the 20 'prettiest towns' in the United States in 2008. [1]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 4.6 square miles (12.0 km²), all of it land.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there were 457 people, 192 households, and 120 families residing in the town. The population density was 98.8 people per square mile (38.1/km²). There were 228 housing units at an average density of 49.3/sq mi (19.0/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 91.90% White, 1.75% Native American, 0.66% Asian, 4.81% from other races, and 0.88% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 11.38% of the population.
There were 192 households out of which 17.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.6% were married couples living together, 7.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.5% were non-families. 24.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 2.88.
In the town the population was spread out with 19.7% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 26.0% from 25 to 44, 32.6% from 45 to 64, and 15.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 44 years. For every 100 females there were 96.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.3 males.
The median income for a household in the town was $41,607, and the median income for a family was $51,500. Males had a median income of $34,063 versus $26,667 for females. The per capita income for the town was $25,593. About 8.3% of families and 9.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 12.0% of those under age 18 and 12.3% of those age 65 or over.
