Stefanie de Velasco (born 1978 in Oberhausen) is a German writer. Born to Spanish immigrant parents, de Velasco grew up in the Rhineland and studied in Bonn, Berlin and Warsaw. Her debut novel Tiger Milk (2013) was published to critical acclaim. It has been translated into numerous languages; the English translation by Tim Mohr was nominated for the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize in 2015. It has also been turned into a successful play.[1]
