Joseph Liebchen (March 10, 1884 in Chicago, Illinois – December 29, 1971 in Hollywood, California) (or born in Born in Schweidnitz, Germany[1]) was an American actor and sculptor whose career spanned seven decades, appearing in almost 450 films between 1909 and 1964. He is sometimes credited as Stewart Holmes.

As a sculptor Holmes created work for at least three California US post offices as part of the Federal Art Project, in Oceanside (1936), Claremont (1937), and Bell (1937).[2]
