Su Zhi-Ming is the Roman Catholic bishop of the diocese of Baoding, China.[1]

Arrest

Chinese officials arrested him and exercised their power to not disclose his whereabouts in the media, which in China is operated by the ruling Communist party. As a result of China's communist governmental policies, the practice of Roman Catholicism is forbidden by law.

Disappearance

Zhi-Ming was imprisoned in 1997,[2] and his location had remained unknown until November 15, 2003, when he was accidentally discovered in a Baoding hospital. He has since disappeared without a trace. At the current time, it remains unknown whether or not he is alive or dead.
