Suresh Perera (born 5 June 1970[1][page needed]) is a Sri Lankan former first-class cricketer who was active in the 1991–92 and 1998–99 seasons.[1] He played for the Old Cambrians Sports Club in November 1991[2][3] and the Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club in February 1999.[4]
Cricketing career
Perera bowled right arm off break. He was a 21-year-old student, based in Moratuwa, when he made his debut in November 1991.[5]
1991–92 season
Perera appeared in one first-class match for the Old Cambrians in the Saravanamuttu Trophy playing against the Antonians Sports Club at Tyronne Fernando Stadium from 1 to 3 November 1991. In the two innings that he played during the match, Perera made scores of 7 and 4, and took one wicket giving away 61 runs.[6] Antonians Sports Club won the match by 8 wickets.[7]
1998–99 season
Perera reappeared more than seven years later, playing for Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club against Galle Cricket Club at the Galle International Stadium from 12 to 14 February 1999. He scored a duck in the first innings, did not bat in the second innings and did not bowl in either Galle innings. The match was drawn.[8]
