Surprise Lake Trail is in the northern Gore Range, part of the Rocky Mountains in the U.S. state of Colorado. It is located in the Eagles Nest Wilderness, Summit County.

Surprise Lake Trail is north of Interstate 70, west of Highway 9, north of Silverthorne and near Heeney. The trailhead is found south of Eaglesmere Lakes Trail, east of Cataract Lake Loop Trail, and west of Cataract Creek Campground. The trail begins a nine-mile loop that passes Surprise Lake, Tipperary Lake, and Eaglesmere Lakes. Surprise Lake Trail also provides access to Mirror Lake Trail, Elliot Ridge Trail, Tipperary Lake Trail, and Eaglesmere Lakes Trail. Surprise Lake lies north of Mount Powell, Eaglesnest, and Meridian Peak.
