Tahira Mazhar Ali

Tahira Mazhar Ali (née Hayat) (5 January 1924, Lahore, British India[1] – 23 March 2015, Lahore, Pakistan[1]) was a Pakistani women's rights campaigner, mentor to Benazir Bhutto and mother of Tariq Ali.[2][3][4] Her husband, late Mazhar Ali Khan was also a well-known journalist of Pakistan, with Socialist leanings [citation needed]

Ali was the daughter of the Punjabi politician Sikandar Hayat Khan and a younger sister of Sardar Shaukat Hayat Khan and Begum Mahmooda Salim Khan.[5]
