    Pass/Fail:

Here we go. Having already reviewed the 1985 and 1986 Giro d'Italia articles, I was a little disappointed to find that there was sloppiness in proof reading here. Thankfully, an IP took care of some of it yesterday. What should be taken care of is:

  • Lead: ranking each of the twenty teams contesting the race by lowest cumulative time. This is confusing, since it sounds like the teams are ranked according to all riders in the final GC. That is obviously not the case, as you point out later in the article. Maybe remove this half sentence alltogether from the lead?

  • Pre-race favorites: Quite a messy paragraph. You use the phrase "came in"/"coming in" three two times in three sentences following each other. That is not really good style and should be rephrased.
I re-organized it a bit. It was hard to find much for this section for this edition. Disc Wheel (T + C) 19:09, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Also, American Greg LeMond told the press he planned to be competitive at this Giro than he had in years past. I believe there is a word missing here?

  • Route and stages: You could add a short note on what the Cima Coppi is. The reader should not have to click on a wikilink to find out about it.

  • Route and stages: The table with the stages should have a source row at the end of the table, giving a fitting reference.
I have the table sourced at the part that reads "stage characteristics and results". I've done this for the two articles I've taken to FA and had no issues with that. Disc Wheel (T + C) 19:09, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Race overview: 2nd paragraph: being neutralized - I guess the attacks were neutralized? But it could also be understood that the course was neutralized. You should clarify this.

  • Race overview: 6th paragraph: With twenty kilometers to go in the fourteenth leg, Franco Ballerini, Casado, Juan Martínez Oliver, and Brian Peterson. This sentence goes nowhere.

  • Same paragraph, a sentence later, you use "scretch" two times in one sentence.

  • Same paragraph: On the ascent of the Mortirolo, You need to point out that you are speaking about the next stage!

  • Isn't ballooning a little too colloquial?

  • Classification leadership: Are bonuses also awarded for ITTs? If not, you should note that.
They were awarded for ITTs. Disc Wheel (T + C) 19:09, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Captions: The one showing Fignon and LeMond on stage 13: I would say the term peloton is stressing it a little bit here. LeMond finished 23 minutes off the leader. So I would rather call this group the autobus.

  • If you find a source for that, it might be worth pointing out that both LeMond and Fignon withdrew from the race?
I shall scower the internet and get back to you on this. Disc Wheel (T + C) 19:09, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Placed on hold for seven days. Zwerg Nase (talk) 14:40, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Everything seems to be taken care of, so it's a pass :) The LeMond and Fignon thing does certainly not stand in the way. Congrats!

PS: Interesting that they had time bonuses for ITTs, that seems weird. But then again, the whole intergiro thing is completely gaga as well... Zwerg Nase (talk) 20:59, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
