- "The 2007 Appalachian State vs. Michigan football game was a regular-season college football game between the Appalachian State Mountaineers and Michigan Wolverines, held at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Michigan on September 1, 2007" can you pick a better thesis than that? For a historic game, it is so boring. YE PacificHurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- I've modified it slightly; not sure what else can be improved there, because most articles on sports tend to have a relatively boring first sentence. Toa Nidhiki05 20:28, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- " but Appalachian State regained the lead on a short field goal with 26 seconds left in the game. " since you say "regained the lead above, change this to "took the lead for the second time". YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- " Appalachian State became the first FCS team to defeat a ranked FBS team, and as a result of the game Michigan dropped out of the top 25 of the AP Poll entirely, the first time a team had dropped out of the top five of the poll as the result of a single game." before "the", add "mrrking". YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- "the first FCS team to receive votes in the final AP Poll, tying South Florida for the 34th overall ranking." in what week? YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- The final poll has no week number assigned to it; because it is a postseason poll, taken after all bowl games are completed, assigning a week name would not make sense because bowl games are spread over several weeks. It is normally just called the 'final poll' or 'final ranking'. Toa Nidhiki05 20:28, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- cut back on the divisons and subdivisions section, wikilinks should explain some of these terms. YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- Cut back a bit. Toa Nidhiki05 20:28, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- " and one win against an FCS team can be counted towards their bowl-eligible status provided the FCS team meets certain scholarship requirements.[11] " isn't that every other year? YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- If there was a rule, that has been changed - now any one win against an FCS team can count. I believe the rule changed when the NCAA expanded the season to allow 12-game seasons. Toa Nidhiki05 20:28, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- "On the other hand, the Mountaineers lacked the depth of the Wolverines, having 22 fewer scholarship players.[16]" did they have more walk-ons? YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- I am not sure. They had a much smaller roster, but the 22 scholarship player gap is normal for FCS teams because the FBS allows 85 scholarship players, while the FCS allows only 63. Toa Nidhiki05 20:28, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- "Only a small number of Wolverine fans were able to watch the game," any exact estimation? YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- No, unfortunately; the article does not give exact numbers. Toa Nidhiki05 20:28, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- "Appalachian State started their drive with three minutes and nine seconds left in the half at their own 35-yard line," "three minutes and nine seconds" to "3:09". YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- "Appalachian State started their drive with three minutes and nine seconds left in the half at their own 35-yard line," half? YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- "kickoff to their 32-yard line, with two minutes and fifteen seconds left on the clock." "kickoff to their 32-yard line, with 2:05 remaining on the clock." YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- " Michigan began their series at the Appalachian State 40-yard line," to " Michigan took possession at the Appalachian State 40-yard line," YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- "to make the score 31 to 20 in favor of the Mountaineers. " mix it up, and say "31-20 Appalachian State". YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- "The Wolverines went for a two-point conversion but" comma before "but". YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- " Hart ran the ball 55 yards for a touchdown, giving Michigan the lead 32 to 31" how much time left? YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- " With no timeouts left, the Mountaineers drove 69 yards down the field in one minute and eleven seconds" just say "in jut over a minute" 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- " The attempt was blocked, however, giving Appalachian State control of the ball with one minute and thirty-seven seconds left.[19]" again, just use "1:37" YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- " Temperatures were in the mid 70s, with wind heading north at 10–15 miles per hour. " F or C and please convert to the other unit. Ditto with wind speed. YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- The measurements aren't specific, but I have converted them. Toa Nidhiki05 20:28, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- Source for scoring summary? YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- "Appalachian State quarterback Armanti Edwards completed 17 of 23 passes for 227 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions, with an average of 9.9 yards per throw" to "Appalachian State quarterback Armanti Edwards completed 17 of 23 passes for 227 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions while averaging of 9.9 yards per throw" just to mix it up a tad. YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- " and Delaware in the championship game,[24]" easily or was it close? YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- Easily; they won by 28 points. I've added the scores to those games to make it a bit more clear to readers. Toa Nidhiki05 20:28, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- "the most astonishing college football result I can remember" put a period after "remember". 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- Periods got inside the quotations, not outside. YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- All periods are now inside the quotation marks. Toa Nidhiki05 20:28, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- " a sports apparel shop carrying ASU gear, Sports Fanatic, reported seven times the amount of sales as usual.[41]" "reported that sales was seven times the normal". YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- How did Michigan fans react after the game? YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- "Appalachian State will be playing their first year of football in the FBS in 2014.[50][51]" note that they are going to the Sun Belt Conference in 2014. YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- Any other notable FCS over FBS upsets since this? Did not number of FCS/FBS games increase or decrease? YE Pacific Hurricane 15:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- I do not have the numbers on whether upsets have increased since then, but it is fairly common for there to be a couple wins by FCS teams, mainly against mediocre or bad FBS teams. There has been another upset of a ranked team (the James Madison Dukes beat #13 Virginia Tech in 2010); that game does not have an article, but it is the only other upset of a ranked FBS team. I would note that in the article somewhere, but I do not have a good idea as to where that should go. Toa Nidhiki05 20:28, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
