Review should be up soon. Good888 (talk) 15:47, 18 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lead

  • Should the logo of the 2012 Daytona 500 be added here? Or does the Duel have a different logo? Either way, you should add it here.
    • Logo has been added
  • I think a small infobox is needed here, similar to the 2012 Daytona 500 one.
    • I have started a topic of discussion with WikiProject NASCAR members on this issue. I've added a custom infobox for the time being
  • Can caution period be linked?
    • Caution period linked
  • "Kenseth attempted a race winning slingshot" What's a race winning slingshot? Can it be linked?
    • Yes, it has been linked to the article Drafting (aerodynamics)
  • You could state that it was Roush Fenway Racing first Gatorade Duels win.
    • Done this

Report

  • In both the images, it says "after the Gatorade Duels." It should say "of" instead.
    • Corrected
  • "The defending winners of the race were Kurt Busch and Jeff Burton." It should be winners of the races. Also I think it should say respectively at the end.
    • Wording corrected
  • "the 43rd position would be filled by next-fastest driver who was not in the top 35 qualifying positions." I don't think the last part of this sentence is needed. Also it should say "the next-fastest driver"
  • Done
  • "The next three positions were occupied by Clint Bowyer, Michael McDowell and Kevin Harvick. Paul Menard and Kasey Kahne followed in the top ten." Better to rewrite it similar to this: "Clint Bowyer, Michael McDowell, Kevin Harvick, Paul Menard and Kasey Kahne completed the top ten."
  • Done
  • "On lap nine, Michael McDowell made contact with David Gilliland between turns one and two; he collected Menard and Montoya, triggering the first caution of the race and the appearance of the pace car. Keselowski was also caught up in the wreckage and his car sustained minor damage." Does this count as The Big One since it did have five cars crashing? If so link it under contact.
  • Yes it was, The Big One has been linked under contact
  • "Stewart and Harvick lead at the lap 57 restart." Shouldn't it be led?
    • Wording corrected
  • "Kahne had to move to the rear of the field because he had switched to his backup car." You say rear of the grid here but say back in the infobox. Which one is correct in American English?
    • It is rear in American English
  • "He was joined by Clint Bowyer—whose qualifying time was disallowed" Explain why if possible.
    • Bowyer had his car twice fail for
  • "while Biffle, Smith and Jimmie Johnson pit-stopped on the following lap" Pitted would be better.
  • Done
  • "His victory gave Kenseth's team Roush Fenway Racing its first win in the Gatorade Duels." Should just say "his team"
  • Reworded this to say "Kenseth's victory gave his team Roush Fenway Racing its first win in the Gatorade Duels."

Results

  • I noticed at the top of the tables it says "race 1" and "race 2." Should they be capitalized?
  • Done
  • Hendrick Motorsports was linked twice.
  • Delinked second instance
  • Toyota is linked in Race 2 of the first table when it should be linked in Race 1.
  • Done

References

  • Used Checklinks and found no problems.

Going to place on hold for now. I think this is a decent article, but there could be stuff that I missed out as I don't know much about NASCAR. Good888 (talk) 10:30, 19 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Good888: I have dealt with all of the above issues. Thanks for the review. Z105space (talk) 11:27, 19 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
