Borthwick archive[edit]

There are numerous errors in the Borthwick description: There is evidence for Bayldon and Berry being in St Helens Square before 1824 as they are listed in a trade directory several years earlier – Pigot’s Commercial Directory for 1818-19-20 (p.487) – and had dissolved their partnership in 1821 – London Gazette, issue 17695, p.794 (7 April 1821).
