Incorrect die size?

[edit]

Why would the die be smaller on the 2billion transistor 455 than the 3 billion transistor 460? Can we get another source on this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.123.250.114 (talk) 19:14, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that it seems illogical, however the third digit in the model number, the 5, indicates it is a second revision of the 450 (see Pasclaris Naming System). So any differences would be the changes made from the first to the second revisions. I'm trying to find a second source, but die size is not generally included on spec sheets. Pasclaris (talk) 16:00, 2 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, if you look at the specs for the R7 455 it too has a die size of 160mm2. Therefore it is probably also correct for the Pro 455. Pasclaris (talk) 18:12, 3 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge with Radeon Instinct

[edit]

Newer models starting with MI25/Pro Vega 10 seem to share the versioning with Raedon Pro Artoria2e5 🌉 15:49, 28 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Merging with Radeon Instinct would make no sense

[edit]

The Radeon Instinct cards are meant to compete against Nvidia's Tesla lines for GPU computation in datacenters, while it's true that both lines share the same driver in some aspects, they're meant to do very different tasks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Steffen Eilers (talkcontribs) 06:45, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
