Any idea how these snakes acquired a common name of a type of Native American shoe? -Wschart (talk) 20:18, 27 August 2012 (UTC)

species of Agkistrodon[edit]

I believe that the ornate or Taylor's cantil, formerly considered a subspecies of A. bilinieatus, is now generally agreed to be a separate species, A. taylori.

Also, I would like to see a complete listing of all the species formerly placed in this genus. Mia229 (talk) 01:08, 4 September 2012 (UTC)

Deinagkistrodon acutus Venom[edit]

Should this be included in this article, when the species is not a part of the agkistrodon genus? — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 05:09, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
