Space issues were discussed which resulted in moving this content. Here we can add more to this Bio without issues of space! Zos 23:56, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge

[edit]

There is a suggestion to move this back to the Aleister Crowley page. Yet the user who suggested this gave no reason! There was good reason to make this its own article. What are the reasons for merging it back? Zos 01:48, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Since no one has commented, or given reason why this should be merged, I'm removing the merge tag. Please see the discussion on the Aleister Crowley talk page for more info. Zos 18:54, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not the one who made the merge page suggestion, but I'm going to support it anyway. It is not accepted format on Wikipedia to fork out the person's biography from their main article; the biography is supposed to be the purpose of the main article. If you want to fork stuff off for length, look at things like his bibliography, not the details of his life; those have to be in the main article. Bearcat 00:32, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The other page was not a main page for the biography, it was a section of that page. If the other page was specifically for his Bio it would have been called Aleister Crowley Bio, which it wasnt, and this is. Zos 00:54, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Biographical information on Wikipedia goes on the main article title; biographies are not forked off to separate subpages. This is not a negotiable part of Wikipedia format. Bearcat 01:26, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
See Wikipedia:naming conventions (people)#Several articles treating the same person (and the rest of that guideline). Indeed, Aleister Crowley (biography) would be an unallowable split. And, in view of Wikipedia:naming conventions (people)#Qualifier between brackets or parentheses, Aleister Crowley (biography) would be an unsuitable page name for an article on a person (I mean, even for disambiguation reasons). Diverting the biography of the person named Aleister Crowley to another article than Aleister Crowley would also be a unallowable POV split, per wikipedia:content forking. --Francis Schonken 07:57, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for pointing this out. Yet, I'm looking for a policy, not a guidline. A number of us actually have, on the Aleister Crowley talk page. Zos 07:59, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

formatting

[edit]

I added a few headings to ellaborate under. None of the info has any sources, but all was taken directly from the Aleister Crowley page as to not delete it. Some of the material needs to seriously be moved around to fit under headings. Zos 19:08, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
