Good article review (see Wikipedia:What is a good article? for criteria)

The page is in good shape and already there were just a few things that I came across while reading this, which I will point out below.--Mo Rock...Monstrous (leech44) 18:10, 18 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):

In the playing career section.
a. For his play the previous season, Cherepanov was named RSL Newcomer of the Year for the '06-'07 Season.

This seems odd, the previous season notation doesn't seem to fit. the year is mentioned and the sentence follows discussion of said season. I think that it can just be dropped.
Done. I think this was a previously written sentence that I left intact after checking the content of the reference.
Why is the year notation for the award different from all of the other years?
Fixed.

b. NHL is first spelled out as part of the Draft so the first stand alone use of NHL should be linked similar to what you've done with the KHL.

Found it and fixed.

c. Like wise the first mention of KHL should be fully written out as part of the season listing.

This one took longer to track down, but I found it and fixed it.

In the International play section
a. He was particularly effective in the 3rd place game against the United States, recording 3 points during a 4–2 victory over the United States

No need to say United States twice.
Yep, that sounded weird, and it now fixed.
For the link, United States Country is liked, would a link to United States men's national junior ice hockey team be better like how Russia is linked?
Fixed.

In the Playing style section
a. In the first sentence you reference him as a "forward, who had a special talent for scoring goals" then three sentence later it is stated again as part of a quote. The first mention should be changed to something along the lines of noted goal scorer, goal scoring offensive forward, offensive forward with a knack for scoring goals or similar. A change should be made to keep the repetition out.

Reorganized.
  1. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):

a. A spot check of the References shows not copyright violations.
b. For reference # 22 The New York Times should be italicized like in the other mentions of the paper.

Fixed.

c. Linking should consistent. #9 The New York Times is linked # 8 New York Rangers are link, while #15 The Globe and Mail and #31 Colorado Avalanche are not. All with pages should be linke or none of them should be linked.

Removed it from all.

d. Use of TSN should be consistent as well - TSN.ca (#19) and TSN (#25)

Fixed this.
  1. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
  2. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  3. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  4. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):

No images included on the page. Maybe consider adding a fair use image for a deceased individual, something like Bobby Bauer.

I am chasing down a few avenues to get some existing images released under an appropriate license. I am going to hold off going through the fair use route until I know for sure those won't pan out.
It's not a big deal if you can't find one. I feel it adds to a page if you can put a face to the name and with such limited access to North America and such a short playing career there would seem to be less chance of a free licensed image. That coupled with his death would seem to make it a candidate for Fair Use.
  1. Overall:
Only a few things that need to be taken care of.
Everything that needed to be address to meet GA has been fixed. I am happy to pass this. Good work.
I think this is everything. Thanks for the review, and let me know if I missed anything that needed to be addressed! Canada Hky (talk) 19:14, 18 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
