Anti-Deletion!

[edit]

Can we make a new alexis grace article? Isko1901 (talk) 13:09, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why doesn't Alexis have a page? The other finalists do. I just don't understand why it was deleted. LindsayLou07 (talk) 03:15, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As much as this Macaulay-Culkin-looking-teen-hooker-phony infuriates me personally, you CANNOT simply delete *one* contestant in the Top 13/Finals on American Idol, while leaving all of the rest in tact. If you're going to delete Alexis's, delete them all. She's no more notable than Jasmine Murray and/or Michael Sarver.--Cinemaniac86Oy_gevalt. 14:56, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest putting them up for deletion then, if that is how you feel. Fritzpoll (talk) 14:57, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's not necessary to delete any of them. This has been standard practice that each of the Top 13 have their own page. Why is there suddenly such objection?--Cinemaniac86Oy_gevalt. 15:00, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It was the result of the deletion discussion for this article. There is very little in terms of "standard practice" at AfD - it is run on WP:CONSENSUS, WP:BLP and according to WP:DGFA Fritzpoll (talk) 15:02, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have no idea what all that jabberwocky means. What does AfD stand for?--Cinemaniac86Oy_gevalt. 15:17, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Articles for deletion - someone nominated it to be deleted, there was a discussion for about five days. An admin closes it (in this case me), and based on the consensus of the discussion, takes an appropriate action. In this case, the action was delete Fritzpoll (talk) 15:20, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm almost positive that, should she remain on the show for several more weeks, that her article will need to be recreated. I read briefly through other AFDs, such as Haley Scarnato's, and several points they mentioned as a means for keeping her were her involvement in the Idol tour, basically being on the most popular/watched reality show, etc.. It just appears, in my eyes, to be pointless, like Woohookitty said in various places, because the AI template gives enough precedent for each finalist to have their own page.--Cinemaniac86Oy_gevalt. 15:33, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
(sigh) There's no precedents on Wikipedia beyond those outlined in our policies and guidelines. WikiProjects cannot determine their own notability guidelines in this way - and past AfDs also don't set precedent because consensus can change. I wouldn't bet on this article being allowed for recreation unless she actually wins, but that will be an argument for another day. Fritzpoll (talk) 15:38, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
See the AI8 talk page for my views on this so-called consensus, which was corrupt, imo.--Cinemaniac86Oy_gevalt. 15:57, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If you come up with a reason to substantiate the allegation of corruption, please drop by my talk page. Fritzpoll (talk) 16:00, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I want to make a new redirection to the article Alexis Grace (American singer) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Facha93 (talkcontribs) 19:34, 3 May 2009 (UTC) I want to make a new redirection to the article Alexis Grace (American singer) from the article Alexis Grace not to the article American Idol (Season 8) because now my article is not readable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Facha93 (talkcontribs) 20:58, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
