  • Sculptor born circa 1290, died in 1348 or 1349. [1]
  • Surname may or may not indicate that he was trained in the city of Pisa. [1]
  • First known work is a pair of bronze doors for the Baptistry of Florence. Begun in 1330 and finished in 1336. [1]
  • Only other known work is on reliefs and possibly some statues on the Campanile of Florence Cathedral. [1]
  • Some of these reliefs may have been designed by his predecessor Giotto. [1]
  • Was put in charge of the works at the cathedral in Orvieto in 1347. [1]
  • His successor there was his son Nino Pisano. [1]
