Software template infobox
Hi everybody! Normally, I'd agree that an infobox for software releases would be helpful, but in this case, we don't know the iOS app's version number as it's built into the operating system. It gives, in my opinion, a bad impression to only list Android's version number. While the infobox is useful in a lot of articles, I don't think this is one. I would like to remove it. Thoughts? - There's a good amount of inconsistency around these: Apple Music uses infobox software; Spotify, Deezer, Soundcloud, and Pandora use infobox dot-com company, while Google Play, iTunes Store, and Amazon Music all use infobox online music service. I applaud your efforts! --Akhenaten0 (talk) 20:06, 17 April 2017 (UTC)
- @Akhenaten0: You are absolutely right that there is inconsistency, but just to correct you on one thing: Spotify uses dot-com company infobox as the main article infobox, but it uses software infobox in its Platforms section. But when it comes to the software infobox, its main usefulness is when it can cover all the major app releases, especially on its own platform. It doesn't do that here. So while all those articles can and should be addressed if a software infobox would be useful somewhere there as well, at the present time I am only concerned with this article, where I don't think the software infobox is appropriate. Seemingly no objections to removing the software infobox, so I will remove it now. LocalNet (talk) 07:42, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
