This article is missing some of the basic information needed about a college, such as answers to

  • Where is the school located?
  • Which fields of study are offered?
  • What degrees are awarded?

Infobox

[edit]

Hi, I was going to update the Template:Infobox University to Template:Infobox Otago college in line with, Knox, Selwyn, St Margaret's, Cumbie and Studholme (of which, 3 I think have had University boxes for a while). However, I see that the addition of the University infobox was only a couple of days ago and wanted to check if there's any strong feeling that that should be kept? All of the information would be included in the new template, something similar to Studholme. If colours and a free coat of arms were available, that'd be even better but I'm not sure whether Arana has a coat of arms or if it's a (non-free) logo? --Philtweir (talk) 03:19, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've moved a couple of bits and pieces around and put the alumni into a list. I'm not entirely sure what should be done about the intro before removing the context template? I've linked the 'residential colleges' to the relevant section of the University of Otago article, but that seems to be as much as occurs elsewhere (e.g. St Margaret's College, Otago, Selwyn College, Cambridge, University College, University of Toronto). If the Otago college infobox is used, maybe that would help clarify context? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Philtweir (talkcontribs) 06:20, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hey there, I was the one who added the info box and was getting ready to add some more content but what you've done is great. I will attempt to find more information on the history of the college and on alumni (Full disclosure: I work at Arana) to add into the structure you have created. I will also look for the coat of arms (I know we had a new one created this year) and see how we can get it added correctly to the page —Preceding unsigned comment added by RichardMcN (talkcontribs) 09:18, 8 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Great, glad it looks OK - feel free to move it around whatever way works best, I've just been moving through college articles sectioning and so forth (disclosure: I'm a grad at Knox). Must be easter break displacement activity! If the template for Otago colleges isn't clear, just get in touch. Cheers! --Philtweir (talk) 22:27, 8 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
