Hi Emarsee, two brief questions: (1) Can you be more specific about the part of the article that lacks a neutral POV. It's difficult to identify these and fix the article when you use an automated script to add the coi tag. (2) I also noticed that you deleted the list of 2009 winners, which seems to be the main subject of this article. I appreciate your reference to the WP:NOTDIR directive, but it doesn't make sense to apply WP:NOTDIR where the article itself is about a list. From your comments elsewhere, I notice you don't put a lot of faith in competitions like these, and that's fair, but it would be helpful if you could more detail as to why the editorial project this article references is somehow suspect. Hi Emarsee, are you out there? It's been a month and we haven't heard from you. You added the tag with an automated program. It would be preferable to discuss your concerns here, rather than just go back and forth with edits. Devenish1850 (talk) 18:08, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Emarsee, I notice that you want to merge this page with another page now. Can you enlighten us on your reasons for doing so? These are two separate editorial competitions followed by thousands of human resources practitioners in British Columbia and, for the other page, elsewhere in Canada. Also, it would be preferable if you could respond to changes on the "Talk" pages before reverting back to your own changes, so that they community can get a better sense of your reasoning. Quite honestly, does it matter if I am a Grade 9 student or not? Age has absolutely nothing to do with this discussion. The matter is that the list of on the page violates WP:NOTDIR. We are not a directory of information. A link to the winners in the external links section is fine, but not directly on the article.
There is also very little that can't be covered on the Canada's Top 100 Employers website. The article can be edited to reflect that they also have Top X Employers in Toronto, Manitoba, BC, etc.
Also, I don't appreciate you thinking others will think my edits are vandalism as they are clearly explained that they violate WP:NOTDIR.  єmarsee Speak up! 22:23, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think this is a violation of the WP:NOTDIR rule, as this article is about a list of winners each year. You may not put a lot of faith in these competitions, but thousands of people who work in the field as well as job-seekers do. In the case of BC's Top Employers, the committee that selects the winners publishes their Reasons for Selection so that everyone understands why they were chosen, which provides transparency and encourages other employers to follow their good ideas. The fact that particular employers are on this list is part of the story. To my reading, this doesn't fall within the six categories prohibited by the WP:NOTDIR ban, but instead is an appropriate use of a list contemplated by Lists (stand alone lists) - appropriate topics.
