Escorted merchants fate
[edit]The article fails to mention the number of merchants in the convoy and the fact that some of them ran aground on the Algerian coast. The outcome of the battle should reflect that.

Hugh Thomas states in his book "The Spanish Civil War" (page 758) that the Republican admiral "lost one convoy from Russia on September 7 [1937] due to the resilience of the captain of the Nationalist cruiser Baleares'Italic text'.
