Is he really a Captain?

[edit]

Where in the movie does it mention that he is a captain. - It's for the Lutz (talk) 23:48, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

He is addressed as Captain several times throughout the film. Plus, near the ending, before killing Kurtz, Willard states, "They were going to make me a Major for this one," which might imply that he would be promoted up one rank (Captain to Major, see Military ranking). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.231.253.123 (talk) 17:31, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

He wears the rank of Captain on his uniform throughout the movie. I'm not sure what the point of the original question was, unless it's an oblique way of suggesting that Williard wasn't really in the Army but was in fact a CIA operative. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.179.11.111 (talk) 20:11, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
