memory loss

I think claim like this deserves a better source than an online gossip magazine. Also what brought about the memory loss? Did the memories just spontaneously dissapear?--129.11.196.206 (talk) 08:08, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

I think there is no real reason to suspect Björn suffers from any long term memory loss. It is just that specific moment in time, and most likely due to the shock of having won the ESC (which the article link refers to) that caused him to "space out". The original Swedish interview also only refers to the ESC event and nothing about it being something that has affected his entire life. The ESC certainly isn't completely blocked out as he has in the past mentioned that he wasn't allowed on stage with Benny Andersson and Stikkan when the winner was announced as they didn't believe he was one of the song writers. 90.228.193.37 (talk) 06:22, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
Regardless of memory loss issues, which are at least verifiable according to Wikipedia rules, there is no basis for the sexual dysfunction nor the overdose of a 6 year old referenced in the article, at least not from the cited article. I've removed these rather extreme unreferenced statements. If someone has actual verifiable references for these "facts" please provide them and re-add them. --Christian Edward Gruber (talk) 05:11, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Re: the memory loss. I noticed several aspects of the reporting. Firstly, though the story appears on many online news sites (at least), they all say pretty much the same thing. They also lack detail and do not appear to be the original source of the information- nor do they mention where it came from. (Including the Daily Mail reference). Secondly, the story is now around 18 months old, but little further has been said about it. (Despite the subsequent Mamma Mia cinematic and DVD release making this a more "newsworthy" issue).
Anyway- I came across this interview where Björn states that
The memory loss is hugely exaggerated. I was on a radio show and I told them my episodic memory wasn’t very good.
(See the link for the full paragraph).
In short, I'm *guessing* that all the reports stem back to this one radio interview, which I haven't heard personally. In the absence of that, it's hard to tell whether there was any exaggeration, remarks taken out of context, what the nature of the problem is and how serious Björn considers it, etc. Ubcule (talk) 01:51, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
