This should be merged with Hull (watercraft) as it is too technical and somewhat trivial on its own.

Wherever the article appears, perhaps it should be expanded (at the risk of getting even more technical or trivial) to deal with the practical uses of the coefficient (e.g., to determine displacement). And somewhere there should be a more comprehensive list of ranges of the block coefficients for a greater number of types of ships. And perhaps someone with some expertise should discuss factors (other than how "fine" or "pointy" a hull is) which influence it, such as sheer or tumblehome, cutaway, etc.-- but maybe that belongs in the hull article.
