"A brewpub is a combination restaurant and microbrewery..." In my town there is an establishment calling itself a brewpub that is not a restaurant. Does this word refer exclusively to combination restaurant-bars in other parts of the world? Friday 2 July 2005 03:39 (UTC)

I agree. Many brewpubs may contain a restaurant, but this is not universal. The very name itself indicates what a brewpub is: a bar that makes some or all of it's own beer. The restaurant element is not related. Dxco 00:47, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Agree. I also take issue with "The first American brewpub was Grant's Brewery Pub in Yakima, Washington, which opened in 1982. According to Merriam-Webster, the term was first used in 1984..." While the term might be new, the concept certainly isn't. 72.131.44.247 19:11, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I feel that we should find an appropriate picture for this entry, but am unsure of what to feature. I have several pictures of a local brewpub (Daughthouse Pub & Brewery, Austin TX) including one of a placard listing current house beers I'd be happy to offer any of them up if anyone thinks there would be merit in doing so. -- Landon 14 November 2006

this article is biased: it does not mention a single brewpub or craft brewery east of the Mississippi
