- This article is suffering greatly from the fact that it tries to address the Browning BDA series pistol without appropriately acknowledging that Browning marketed and sold two entirely different full-size pistol designs under that moniker. Both pistols are presently mentioned within this article, but the article treats them as if they are the same pistol in some areas, while vaguely alluding to the fact that they are not elsewhere. A reader unfamiliar with the subject is likely to be confused to put it mildly. I'll see if this is something that I can make time to correct in the near future. - The article has been modified and is now substantially incorrect. Brownings Sig Sauer BDA was marketed in only two calibers in the USA, which were 9 x 19mm Parabellum and .45 ACP. The Beretta M84 model was marketed in 9mm Kurz (.380 ACP) only. Only 1000 BDA .45 models were made and only 600 of the 9mm versions. I do not have numbers for the Beretta BDAs. Most of what appears on this page relates to the Sig Sauer P220, not the Browning BDA. Digitallymade (talk) 19:31, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
- Good stuff Digitally Made. One of the problems I mentioned apparently isn't a problem at all, the Hi-Power based BDA already has a Wikipedia article to itself, so the issue of how to divide the two subjects in that regard is not actually an issue. However, there is currently information on this page that directly relates to the Hi-Power BDA rather than the Sig Sauer based models this article is obviously designed to refer to, but we should be able to take care of that pretty easily Syr74 (talk) 17:19, 13 April 2018 (UTC)
Little redundant and confusing (PROPOSAL TO MERGE)
[edit]I have no idea what this entry is referring to.
- For an entry that focuses on handguns, it seems to mostly focus on SIG P220 with faint references to FN HP-DA and Browning BDA 380.
- Is this Browning BDA variant of SIG P220 *really* distinct enough from SIG P220 to warrant it's own entry? How far does the BDA platform really deviate from P220?
- * Disassembly section strongly refers to SIG P220 again.
- * Genealogy section is excessive and is rather non-specific information more applicable to SIG_Sauer_P220#History.
I think this entry - at least one referring to P220 - should be integrated to SIG-Sauer P220 entry as a specific variant - like P220 Compact, P220 Rail and so on.TrickShotFinn (talk) 19:28, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
