[edit]

The given examples don't seem interesting enough to aid understanding of the concept. Are there any càdlàg functions (on the reals, say) whose points of discontinuity do not form a discrete subset of the domain? Mike Segal (talk) 21:18, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Definition

[edit]

Is there any reason to restrict the definition to functions whose codomain is a metric space instead of a topological space? Albmont (talk) 19:10, 30 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

“Càdlàg” itself makes sense for functions taking values in topological spaces. However, the càdlàg modulus, as a numerical measure of “how càdlàg” a function is, only makes sense if there's a notion of distance in the codomain. Sullivan.t.j (talk) 13:48, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
