non-periodic comet
[edit]If it’s a long-period comet, why is it given a category ‘Non-periodic comets’? Valetude (talk) 09:56, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
- C/1861 G1 is technically listed as a long-period "non-periodic comet" because it has not yet been observed at two perihelion passages. When it is seen to come back around 2283, it should receive the P/ designation. -- Kheider (talk) 15:39, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
