WikiProject COVID-19
I've created WikiProject COVID-19 as a temporary or permanent WikiProject and invite editors to use this space for discussing ways to improve coverage of the ongoing 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic. Please bring your ideas to the project/talk page. Stay safe, --Another Believer (Talk) 17:28, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
Suggestion to move case statistics to template form
I suggest that statistics of COVID-19 cases by regions (i.e. states and districts) to be move to a template form, as the tables is currently accounting for around 67,000 bytes, including the case graphs and tables regarding the early COVID-19 cases and fatalities (now accounting for 6,274 and 64,869 bytes respectively). Excessive amounts of bytes in an article will make the article even slower to upload and harder to edit, especially for people with slow Internet speed (currently, Malaysians in general have a slowdown of Internet speed). Suspected cases
@Redthreadhx ok I'll start like this I'm sorry for not using the talk page, I'm still fairly new to wikipedia so I'm sorry for the confusion.
Now the edit summary, what I meant is that the number you provided was for all the people who were tested but not the suspected cases. Hulubalang2584 (talk) 14:24, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks, and somehow I agree with you. Redthreadhx (talk) 14:29, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for listening, I'm glad we agree Hulubalang2584 (talk) 14:32, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
Graphs for regional numbers and ICU figures
Might be a good idea to incorporate these two graphs into the statistics section. Has anyone been tracking ICU numbers? - Two hundred percent (talk) 20:55, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
- Added the ICU graph. If anyone has figures for March 23, April 1 and April 21, or earlier than March 23, do add it. - Two hundred percent (talk) 21:45, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
- Two hundred percent Added. Data before 21 March has only ICU numbers, no numbers for those on ventilators. Redthreadhx (talk) 08:46, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks. We can include earlier ICU figures without ventilator numbers as long as we add a note about it. If you have the numbers, I can add them myself later. - Two hundred percent (talk) 11:45, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
- Two hundred percent Added. Data before 21 March has only ICU numbers, no numbers for those on ventilators. Redthreadhx (talk) 08:46, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
Index case
Is the index case Sungai Buloh or Johor Bahru? Contiball (talk) 14:38, 24 May 2020 (UTC)
Splitting the article ideas
Hi there, I noticed that the article is getting a bit bloated. Should we create sub-articles to help keep it a manageable size. One idea would be having a separate article on the timeline of cases and statistics. This article could then focus on government policies and responses. I am open to hearing other people's ideas. I live in New Zealand now but still have an interest in Malaysia because that is where I grew up and I still have family there. Andykatib 01:55, June 5, 2020 (UTC)
Great idea, and i think we should create different articles for different states (just like Sabah) Contiball (talk) 11:09, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- I don't think we should create articles for the other states due to the nature of peninsular Malaysia. But we could create a Timeline of the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia and put the statistics and case-related events in there. Who's on board? Currently, this article is the fourth longest on Wikipedia. Andykatib 05:41, June 19, 2020 (UTC)
- I have checked with the Timeline of the COVID-19 pandemic in India and it also includes the statistics. Perhaps moving it into the Timeline article above might be a good idea? Andykatib 05:45, June 19, 2020 (UTC)
- Have created the Timeline of the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia article. Andykatib 10:50, June 19, 2020 (UTC)
