Definitely could use sources

Following on the tag inserted some while ago, this article would strongly benefit from critical reviews, mentions in books ... anything of that ilk.

Apparently critics of the time and regular fans of the Carry On series didn't see what they'd come to expect, but current Amazon reviews member reviews suggest a majority of viewers found it enjoyable.

It is true that this film was absolutely panned when released, and the article accurately reflects this. I've never understood the negative reception, as I've always found it quite funny with some great performances and clever gags. It does have a different tone than earlier Carry Ons though, and while the old school fans didn't like Rik Mayall, Alexei Sayle et al, the alternative comedy fans felt the same people had sold out and gone mainstream.
