British ship class name

were the British ships given a class name by the RN? I presume they weren't necessarily known as Casa Grandes as the first one had been delivered to the RN about 9 months before Casa Grande was commissioned. I've also seen (online) the British ships grouped with the Ashland class. GraemeLeggett (talk) 18:32, 27 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
