Suggesting a merger into the much-larger Michelada article. --JD79 03:06, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NO NO NO! You can't merge this with Michelada. Miller has just released a beer called Miller Chill that is labeled and advertised as Chelada. Many people will come to this article curious about Chelada. Also Budweiser just put out a bear called CHELADA!! People will be coming to this article about that beer as well. Budweiser Chelada is Budweiser or bud light (both kinds are for sale) mixed with Clamato. This article will explode in popularity.

Here is a link about Budweiser Chelada. The link to Miller Chill is included. http://www.ratebeer.com/Brewers/Beer/Beer-Reviews-74833.htm

Is there any evidence whatsoever that Miller and/or Bud didn't make this all up? If there is, cite it; otherwise, this article should go in the trash. --Orange Mike 16:43, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Even if they did make up the word the word still exists. I see no reason to delete the article. People see the word on the beer and wonder what it means, they google it, and like most other words, a wikipedia article is among the first results. And anyway its unlikely that the beer companies made up the word since two companies put out beers at near the same time with this name. If they did that would be collusion and might be illegal. --Jon in California
Nope. Read Wikipedia:Avoid neologisms from the Wikipedia Manual of Style. --Orange Mike 14:02, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Jon, this is why we have redirects. Chelada can redirected to Michelada. A nice Google search has done nothing to convince me that Chelada is any different from being a type of Michelada, which apparently is a broad family of beer-based cocktails. --JD79 01:22, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Update - this article has devolved into a disaster. Merging. --JD79 12:41, 15 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
